FAQs
1. How does the autonomous mower work?
The robotic mower is fully automated. After the initial setup, it mows your lawn autonomously, returning to its charging station when it’s done or when the battery runs low. It’s quiet, efficient, and perfect for keeping your lawn tidy without the hassle.
2. Do I need Wi-Fi for the robot mower?
Yes, the mower needs a reliable Wi-Fi connection to communicate with the mobile app and receive any updates or schedule changes. If you’re unsure about your Wi-Fi setup, we can help with that during installation.
3. What if my lawn has steep slopes or tight corners?
Our mowers are designed to handle various terrain types, including gentle slopes and tight corners. However, for very steep or uneven slopes, we assess each lawn individually to ensure the best setup for your mower. If your lawn has areas that might be tricky, we’ll work with you to find solutions—whether that means adjusting the mower’s settings or manually managing certain spots. Rest assured, we’ve got you covered!
4. What happens in winter?
While the mowers are equipped to handle light rain and mild conditions, we generally pause the mowing service during the coldest months when grass growth slows down. During winter, we focus on other essential services like major irrigation upgrades and repairs to ensure everything is working smoothly for the next season. If you have additional services like fertiliser applications or weed control, we’ll schedule those at the right time to maintain your lawn’s health throughout the colder months.
5. Can I use my own mower with your service?
Yes, in Tier 1 (Lawn Health Plan), you bring your own mower, and we take care of the rest! If you’re interested in a more hands-off solution, consider Tier 2 or Tier 3, where we provide and maintain an autonomous mower for you.
6. What happens if the weather is bad?
Our robot mowers are designed to handle a variety of weather conditions, including light rain. However, if there are heavy rains or extended wet periods, we’ll adjust the mowing schedule accordingly to protect the mower and your lawn.
7. Do you service my area?
We proudly serve Wanaka and the surrounding areas. If you're unsure whether your location falls within our service area, simply reach out to us, and we’ll confirm!
8. How do I know when my irrigation system needs a check?
We’ve got that covered! With our irrigation checks, we inspect your system regularly to ensure it’s functioning properly, saving you from having to worry about it.
9. What is dethatching, and why is it important?
Dethatching is the process of removing dead grass, roots, and other debris that build up on your lawn. This is crucial because it helps your lawn breathe, allowing water, air, and nutrients to reach the roots more effectively. We offer this service in Tier 3 during the appropriate seasons.
10. What’s the difference between your plans?
Tier 1: Ideal for homeowners who prefer to mow themselves but want professional care for irrigation, fertiliser, and pest control.
Tier 2: Includes everything in Tier 1, plus autonomous lawn mowing, so you can sit back and relax.
Tier 3: The ultimate plan for lawn enthusiasts, offering all the benefits of Tier 2 plus dethatching and seasonal care.
